Days 10 and 11- Prague

It's beautiful.

We woke late, and needed breakfast and showers, so we missed the 11am free tour, and instead went to the Czech Parliament (of Deputies) and met the most over-enthusiastic information-guy, who gave us a free DVD (including an interactive quiz on the Czech parliament) and lots of information. We then went up to the castle overlooking the city, which was beautiful, giving views and was wonderful, the museums and stuff were rather dull. There are only so many stones and exhibitions on the underfloor heating of the castle until you start to get bored.
We then strolled down for lunch (Beef Goulash- a Czech specialty, basically Beef Stew and Dumplings)and then went over Charles Bridge- it's a bridge, but is famous.
We then strooled about the town, came back and found our awesome hostel does a FREE BBQ every Friday. We very much enjoyed meeting that, lots of people, including some people from Bristol, who we had obscure links to. We then went to pub, then the strangest metal themed club (the material, not the music) and then went to bed.

Today we got up and went on the free tour which was brilliant as usual, giving us stories and context of all the sites. We then walked up a ridiculously steep hill (the queue for the Funicular Railway was so long). There was some fayre at the top (apparently we missed a free picnic lunch and beer)and then up a observation tower to get incredible views of the city. We walked back, and saw the disappointed clock chime the hour (apparently this is something you have do in Prague). We got back and went out for a meal (200Kroner (about 6 pounds)) of chicken (with a topping of peach (yes peach), and cheese and chips, and Joel had the mixed Grill). WIN.

Fail of the day:
The women in the shop who thought ice cream could just sat on a cone, and when it fell on the floor, just after the first lick, felt it was not her fault and refused a refund/new ice cream for me. i was not happy, but could not argue as i do not speak the language.
